Most people drink Matcha traditionally, that is as green tea from a bowl. But just because it’s the most common way to consume it, doesn’t mean it’s the only way you can receive all the natural health benefits of Matcha tea powder.
You can also add Matcha to hot or cold lattes, frappuccino, hot chocolate, lemonades as well as a number of cocktails, smoothies and juices to give your everyday beverages a little grassy-colored boost.
For those of you who don’t like the taste of tea, the following are a few must-try, matcha-added drink recipes that help disguise the taste while still providing all the healthy benefits.
Ingredients
- ½ – 1 tsp Matcha green tea powder
- ¼ C warmed coconut milk
- ¼ C hot water
- ½ – 1 tsp sugar
Spoon your Matcha into a large mug and then whisk in the warm coconut milk and hot water. Taste your drink and add in the sugar and any additional coconut milk or water to your liking.
Vanilla Matcha Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 C unsweetened almond milk
- ½ C ice
- 2 tsp Matcha green tea powder
- Fresh vanilla bean (scraped from 1 inch of a pod)
- 2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder
- 1 banana
- ½ tsp organic maple syrup
Combine all ingredients into a blender and mix together until smooth.
Ingredients
- ¾ C water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 tsp agave
- 4 mint leaves
- 1 tsp Matcha green tea powder
- Ice
Fill a pitcher with the above ingredients, stir well, drink and enjoy!
